Abstract

The “Vietnamese Bamboo Diplomacy,” with its core philosophy of “strong roots,
sturdy trunk, and flexible branches,” has become a symbol of Vietnam’s holistic, modern,
and steadfast foreign policy in the new era. The principles of independence, selfreliance, multilateralization, diversification, and commitment to peace, cooperation, and
development have onsolidated Vietnam’s position in the international arena, safeguarded
a peaceful environment, supported national development, and promoted the well-being
of the people. However, amid the complexities of the global context, numerous distorted
arguments and various misleading narratives deliberately misrepresent the nature of
the Party and State’s foreign policy, labeling it as “power balancing”, “inconsistent,”
“passive,” or “ambiguous.” In this regard, it is an urgent requirement to reaffirm the
theoretical and practical values of Vietnam’s foreign policy as well as to identify and
refute erroneous and hostile arguments in order to protect the ideological foundation
of the Party, guide public opinion, and maintain political and diplomatic stability in the current context of profound global integration
