POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN HAI PHONG: BARRIERS AND SOLUTIONS

Women’s participation in political and social activities has long been a central concern across nations worldwide. In Vietnam, women are considered an essential driving force behind the country’s comprehensive development. However, in practice, the role of women within political and social organizations has not been fully recognized, as they continue to face prejudice, public scrutiny, and gender-based discrimination. In this paper, the author employs research methods such as questionnaire surveys, document analysis, and in-depth interviews to examine the real extent of women’s participation in political and social activities in Hai Phong City. The study identifies underlying causes and challenges, thereby proposing practical solutions aimed at enhancing the role of women in political and social organizations in Hai Phong in particular, and in Vietnam in general.
