DESIGNING LEARNING GAMES IN TEACHING VIETNAMESE WRITING FOR 4TH-GRADE STUDENTS

Abstract

Trong bối cảnh đổi mới phương pháp dạy học theo định hướng phát triển phẩm chất và năng lực học sinh, việc vận dụng trò chơi học tập trong giảng dạy môn Tiếng Việt ở tiểu học ngày càng được quan tâm. Bài viết tập trung vào vấn đề thiết kế và tổ chức trò chơi học tập trong dạy học viết cho học sinh lớp 4, một trong những kỹ năng ngôn ngữ trọng yếu nhưng thường khó rèn luyện. Trên cơ sở khảo sát thực trạng, kết quả cho thấy đa số giáo viên nhận thức rõ vai trò quan trọng của trò chơi học tập, song việc áp dụng còn chưa thường xuyên và chủ yếu tập trung vào các kỹ năng nghe, nói. Từ đó, bài viết đề xuất nguyên tắc và quy trình thiết kế trò chơi học tập phù hợp với đặc trưng của hoạt động viết văn, đảm bảo tính vừa sức, hấp dẫn và gắn với tình huống giao tiếp thực tiễn. Một số trò chơi cụ thể được giới thiệu nhằm khuyến khích học sinh phát triển ý tưởng, rèn luyện trong quá trình viết đoạn văn và bài văn. Qua đó, trò chơi học tập không chỉ góp phần tạo hứng thú, mà còn nâng cao chất lượng dạy học viết môn Tiếng Việt lớp 4, đáp ứng mục tiêu của chương trình giáo dục phổ thông 2018.

ABSTRACT

In the context of educational innovation aimed at developing students’ competencies and qualities, the integration of learning games into Vietnamese language teaching at the primary level has attracted increasing interest. This study focuses on the design and implementation of learning games in teaching writing for 4th-grade students—an essential but often challenging skill to foster. A survey of current practice reveals that most teachers acknowledge the importance of learning games, yet their use remains infrequent and mainly limited to listening and speaking activities. To address this gap, the paper proposes key principles and a structured process for designing writing-focused learning games that are feasible, engaging, and connected to real-life communication contexts. Several sample games are introduced to help students generate ideas, expand vocabulary, and practice constructing coherent paragraphs and essays. The findings suggest that learning games not only enhance motivation and classroom interaction but also contribute to improving the overall quality of teaching writing in Vietnamese, aligning with the objectives of the 2018 General Education Curriculum.
