FOSTERING STUDENTS’ QUALITIES AND COMPETENCIES THROUGH LIFE VALUES EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY AT DUONG KY HIEP JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, PHÚ LỢI WARD, CAN THO CITY
Abstract
Nghiên cứu này tìm hiểu vai trò của giáo dục giá trị sống trong việc phát triển phẩm chất và năng lực học sinh ở bậc Trung học cơ sở. Nghiên cứu được thực hiện tại Trường Trung học cơ sở Dương Kỳ Hiệp, Phường Phú Lợi (TP. Cần Thơ) với 40 học sinh và 10 giáo viên, sử dụng phương pháp hỗn hợp gồm khảo sát, quan sát và phỏng vấn. Kết quả cho thấy sau khi áp dụng biện pháp, học sinh tiến bộ rõ rệt về lòng nhân ái, trách nhiệm, hợp tác và tự chủ. Giáo dục giá trị sống góp phần phát triển toàn diện và đáp ứng yêu cầu đổi mới giáo dục hiện nay.
ABSTRACT
This study explores how life values education fosters students’ moral qualities and competencies in junior high School education. Conducted at Duong Ky Hiep junior high School, Phu Loi Ward (Can Tho City) with 40 students and 10 teachers, the research applied mixed methods including surveys, observations, and interviews. Results show significant improvements in students’ compassion, responsibility, cooperation, and self-discipline after the intervention. Integrating life values education into homeroom management proved effective in enhancing students’ holistic development and supporting Vietnam’s competency-based education reform.
