Enhancing financial information security in the digital environment- Current situation and policy implications for Vietnam

Abstract

Information security is a core issue for any organization in the context of digital technology
exploding and penetrating deeply into all areas of social life. Finance and Banking industry, as a foundation
for all economies, is becoming a fertile ground for cybercrime. Along with the rapid pace of transformation
is the issue of ensuring financial information security in the digital environment. This paper makes several
policy recommendation for enhancing financial information security in Vietnam's digital environment. By
synthesizing and analyzing secondary data on cyber attack and data breach, the paper clarifies the current
situation of insecurity of financial information in the cyberspace over the world and in Vietnam. From there,
the paper proposes appropriate solutions for financial information security improvement to the Vietnam’s
context
