Internal factors of innovation capability: A Bibliometric study for Vietnam’s small and medium enterprises
Abstract
Based on the Resource-Based View (RBV) approach, this study employs the bibliometric analysis method to examine the co-occurrence of keywords related to the topic, aiming to develop a theoretical framework on endogenous factors that drive innovation capacity of Vietnam’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs). By conducting a comprehensive review of 378 scientific studies from the Web of Science database, the research identifies and analyzes six key thematic clusters influencing firms' innovation capability, including: firm characteristics, strategic orientation, organizational culture, management and leadership teams, research resources and absorptive capacity, and open innovation activities. The study highlights the distinctive contribution of bibliometric methods in systematically developing a theoretical framework for understanding innovation capability. The findings provide insights and suggest future research directions to enhance innovation performance among Vietnamese enterprises.
