Examining the impact of green finance on sustainable performance: Empirical evidence from commercial banks in Vietnam
Abstract
Green finance is regarded as a crucial factor in promoting the sustainable development of commercial banks, contributing to mitigating risks associated with climate change, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring long-term financial stability. This study aims to evaluate the impact of green finance on the sustainable performance of commercial banks in Vietnam through three dimensions: economic (ED), social (SD), and environmental (EMD). Research data were collected from 221 observations across four banks and analyzed using SPSS 27.0 software. The survey questionnaire method was employed to systematically collect quantitative data, reflecting the perceptions of the research subjects and facilitating objective statistical analyses. The research findings indicate that the environmental dimension exerts the greatest influence on bank sustainable performance, followed by the economic dimension, while the social dimension does not have a significant impact. Based on these results, the study recommends that banks should enhance their investment in green finance projects and suggests that government support is necessary to foster a sustainable financial system in the long term.
