Abstract

The study conducted from March to May, 2024, using a questionnaire on a sample of 268 employees working in a variety of occupations in Vietnam to test the moderating role of security value on the relationship between workplace bullying and task performance. Analytical data based on SPSS and Process Macro software shows that victims of bullying with high security needs tend to improve their performance when performing tasks, while victims with low security needs tend to reduce work performance. From the research findings, several recommendations for managers include: building a safe and respectful work environment, understanding employees' personal values to provide appropriate support when they experience bullying, and offering training on coping strategies and response skills in bullying situations. Based on some limitations drawn from the research process, the authors propose some directions to expand similar research in the future.
