Abstract

The article analyzes the development of renewable energy and carbon emission reduction policies in Vietnam against the backdrop of increasing international pressure for clean energy and greenhouse gas mitigation. By utilizing data from government reports, international studies, and scientific articles, the paper assesses the effectiveness of the feed-in tariff (FIT) policy for solar and wind energythe two fastest-growing renewable energy sources in Vietnam. However, significant challenges remain, including difficulties in integrating renewable energy into the national grid and barriers in the licensing process. The study also identifies gaps in the cost-benefit assessment of emission reduction measures and the potential for investment in other renewable energy sources. The article concludes with policy recommendations aimed at optimizing the effectiveness of current policies and advancing Vietnam towards sustainable development goals.
