Karl Marx's Methodology and Sociological Methods

Abstract

Abstract: Karl Marx (1818-1883), a German, is considered one of the founders of sociology and a key representative of the Marxist school of sociology. Marx’s contributions to methodology and sociological methods have had a profound influence on the development of sociology. Today, his contributions to social science in general and sociology in particular remain highly valuable. Based on secondary sources, this article provides an overview of Marx's contributions to methodology and sociological methods, and discusses how this knowledge can be applied in current sociological research and teaching in Vietnam.
