Abstract
Abstract: In humanity's millennia-long history of political economy, gold is not merely a precious metal or a commodity; it is the physical embodiment of “Trust” in social and financial structures. Based on research into the flaws in contemporary global monetary institutions, the consequences of this institution on the dominant global currency, the USD, and the geopolitical and geoeconomic shifts creating profound changes, this article argues that the current gold price surge is a symptom of a deep crisis of confidence in the USD monetary system - a system that has dominated the world since World War II.
