This paper presents the innovation of teaching methods in the course “Principles of internal combustion engines” at Dong Thap University, oriented towards the development of student competencies. Based on the results of a survey on the current use of teaching methods, the paper proposes several innovative measures to develop student competencies and contribute to improving the training quality of the university.
