Abstract

ABC fire extinguishing powder is widely used in fire prevention and fighting due to its fast extinguishing effect and low cost. However, in Vietnam's climate conditions, humidity often exceeds 80%, significantly reducing the effectiveness of this product. To solve this problem, this study proposes a surface modification method to improve the properties of ABC fire extinguishing powder. The study uses silane modifiers to treat the surface of fire extinguishing powder particles, resulting in significant improvements in moisture resistance, water resistance as well as prevention of caking and clumping of ABC fire extinguishing powder. The research results show that the improved ABC fire extinguishing powder not only retains its fire extinguishing effect but also exhibits improved flowability, which is more suitable for the specific climatic conditions common in Vietnam.
