Application of ground penetrating radar technology in geotechnical investigation. Taking some typical projects as the examples

ABSTRACT:
At present, drilling method is one of the methods widely used in geotechnical engineering investigation works in Vietnam. However, drilling alone often leads to unsatisfactory results or higher costs in areas with large area or linear engineering survey. Ground penetrating radar technology is a geophysical detection technology that combines radar technology and geological science and technology. Its advantage is that it has very high detection efficiency, simple operation, lossless detection, and very high accuracy. This paper mainly introduces the ground penetrating radar technology and its application in geotechnical engineering investigation through some practical projects, and aims to provide reference for staff.
