Urban transformation and Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Urban transformation is driven by three powers: the economic, knowledge, and the political. Depending on how and to what extend each aspect is put on, different urban transformations resulted. The paper is to understand the context of urban transformation and how it is challenged by the Covid-19. Based on the morphological analysis that take account different physical layers that constituted the urban form and development, taking the case of Saigon Hochiminh City, the paper addresses typical changes and how those tendencies is initially influenced by Covid. It is also to conclude how considerations should be paid to adapt and support more positive changes under such pandemic that may come in the future.
