Abstract

Objectives: To describe the characteristics of clinical manifestations, laboratory and   treatment in children after surgery ventricular septal defect (VSD) at Bac Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Methods: Prospective study and case series from April 2014 to April 2018. Participant: During the study period, 71 eligible patients were included in the study. Of the 71 patients with ventricular septal defect. Results: 36 were male (52%), 35 female accounted for 48%. The most common age ranges (0-12 months) accounted for 49.2%, the proportion of patients with malnutrition level 1 accounted for 61%. Patients in rural areas account for a high proportion (83%). Patients with membranous defects accounted for 74.64%, infundibular accounted for 22.54%, inlet or atrioventricular canal accounted for 2.82%. Conclusions: The success rate of ventricular septal defect surgery is 97%, with no deaths.
