EDUCATING RESPONSE SKILLS TO GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH GEOGRAPHY

Abstract

Global climate change is becoming an urgent problem for the society. Extreme phenomena such as natural disasters, floods, droughts, high tides, and saline intrusion are increasingly popular, causing many damages and significant impacts on people's lives, activities if people lack response skills. For many years of teaching and witnessing the consequences and people's ability to respond to climate change, the author has realized that most of the students are still unaware of the skills to cope with the natural changes and that the goals of the Ministry of Education and Training is provide for students with basic skills to cope with climate change. The purpose of this article is to address the issue of educating climate change response skills for students through Geography. The study was done by applying common research methods, including collection, document processing, experimentation and general analysis. Once the problem is solved, the students would be competently experienced in several skills, such as prediction, action, overcoming, solving consequences and overcome to protect themselves and the community.
