EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING R SOFTWARE IN TEACHING ESTIMATION AND TESTING FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS AT TNU - UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY
Abstract
The teaching of statistical probability subject at universities in general and the TNU - University of Medicine and Pharmacy in particular still has color theory without practice. Thus, estimating and testing problems can only be calculated with a relatively small sample size and mainly using hand-held computers for calculation. Therefore, it is necessary to bring a computer software into teaching to give students more interest and realize the usefulness of the course. By qualitative, quantitative research methods and using R software to process research samples, the results showed that using R software in teaching the estimation and testing module will help students to be interested in the subject as well as to have better results in statistical deduction. In addition, R software can draw complex graphs and charts accurately, beautifully, and can clearly represent the results as well as the correlation of many quantities with each other.
