IMPACTS OF LOANS FROM VIETNAM BANK FOR SOCIAL POLICIES ON POOR HOUSEHOLDS’ INCOME IN DONG HY DISTRICT, THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract

Researching the impact of loans from Vietnam Bank for Social Policies on the income of poor households in Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province has compiled a number of works and shown the impact of microcredit on the income of poor households. On that basis, the author studies the current lending situation of Dong Hy district Bank for Social Policies for poor households in the district. In this study, the author used the Cobb - Douglass production function and applied Stata software to evaluate the impact of loans from the Bank for Social Policies on poor households’ income. Analysis results show that the age of the household head, loan amount, number of people, number of workers, qualifications of the household head, household assets, loan interest rate, and region of residence of poor households have an impact on income of poor households. From the results of the research using qualitative and quantitative methods, the article recommends a number of policies to further improve the lending activities of the Bank for Social Policies for poor households with the goal of helping poor households expand production, improve income and improve living standards.
