THE ARTISTIC LANGUAGE IN THE LITERATURE THEME OF LOCAL EDUCATION MATERIALS (MIDDLE SECONDARY) IN YEN BAI PROVINCE
Abstract
In the new general education curriculum, local literature is emphasized and incorporated into teaching from middle secondary to upper secondary levels (in local educational materials of various provinces). Many literary works of value reflect the unique culture and identity of local regions. When evaluating the significance of local literary works, artistic language is a distinctive aspect that vividly expresses the cultural identity of ethnic groups in each region. Yen Bai, a northern mountainous province, has its local literature included in the local education materials for middle secondary schools, characterized by unique features of artistic language. This is evident in the use of linguistically rich expressions of ethnic cultural identity found in both folk literature (legends, folktales, proverbs, and sayings) and modern literature (short stories and poetry). In this article, we employ analytical, evaluative, and statistical methods to highlight the linguistic features of the literary works within the Literature topic, as taught in the Local Educational Materials of Yen Bai province. The research results confirm the value and role of artistic language in Yen Bai's local literary works concerning the preservation of local culture and literature. Furthermore, through this paper, we also aim to assert the important role of local literature within the system of local educational materials in the northern mountainous provinces today.
