Abstract

The Geneva Agreement of July 21, 1954, was a significant achievement for the Vietnamese people in their resistance against the French colonialists and American intervention. According to the terms of the Agreement, the army of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was required to regroup and transfer troops from the South to the North within 300 days. The purpose of this article is to examine the regrouping and transferring activities of the revolutionary forces at Quy Nhon regrouping area (Binh Dinh province), which was a regrouping area with a duration of 300 days. Through historical, logical, analytical, and document research methods, the findings of the research clearly demonstrate that despite the historical context with many difficulties and complications, the regrouping and transferring activities took place safely and on schedule after the armistice. This contributed to the overall success of the regrouping and transferring work in the South and laid the groundwork for preparing forces in the resistance war against the US to save the country later on.
