ASSESSMENT OF THE CONVERSION OF AGRICULTURAL LAND USE PURPOSES IN THE PERIOD OF 2021 - 2023 IN PHUC TRIU COMMUNE, THAI NGUYEN CITY, THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract

Phuc Triu commune is located in the west of Thai Nguyen city, the total number of households in the commune as of December 2023 was 1,599 households, the natural land area was 2,068.01 hectares, the people here mainly work in agricultural production. Phuc Triu is a commune with few investment projects. The Thai Nguyen Stadium project approved in 2021 was the first large-scale project, greatly affecting the conversion of land use purposes in the commune. The group of authors used the method of collecting and processing documents, statistical methods and synthesis, analysis and comparison methods to point out the limitations and causes in the process of converting agricultural land use purposes in the period of 2021 - 2023. The research results showed that the agricultural land area had been reduced mainly to serve the Thai Nguyen Stadium project, a small part to build technical infrastructure for the tea production area. Besides the positive aspects brought by this activity, people have to face difficulties such as lack of capital, lack of experience, unstable jobs, the emergence of social evils, or problems with spending plans, new housing, lifestyle, health, etc. From that situation, the author proposes reasonable and effective solutions for land recovery, conversion, support, compensation, employment and resettlement to contribute to ensuring sustainable development for the locality.
