DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF A HYDROFORMING DIE SYSTEM FOR MANUFACTURING HOLLOW X-SHAPED JOINT ON THE UNIVERSAL PRESS YH-32
Abstract
This paper presents research findings on the successful design and fabrication of a hydroforming die system for manufacturing hollow X-shaped joint components on the universal press YH-32. The study applies hydroforming technology to form products from tubular blanks with high quality and precision meeting technical requirements, while simultaneously reducing processing time and manufacturing costs, thereby enhancing competitiveness. The research methodology integrates theoretical analysis with 3D modeling using NX software and numerical simulation using Abaqus software to analyze and optimize both the forming process and die structure prior to manufacturing. The results confirm the technological feasibility, enabling production of hollow X-shaped joint that satisfy technical specifications and paving the way for broader application in manufacturing complex machine components. This research holds significant practical value, contributing to the development of Vietnam's metal forming industry
