Abstract
There are nearly 200 water supply projects for domestic use and production in which the measure of check dam to exploit surface water are widely used, occupy 96% and 82% of the total number of water supply projects for production and domestic use, respectively. Nevertheless, currently, the projects are downgrading seriously. There are many reasons for the deterioration but the aggradation in upstream of dam and at the water intake area. This paper presents the results of research on the measure of riverbed water collector using physical model and pilot model with the aim to apply the new water collecting technique instead of conventional method. The results of experiment in the water-poor area show that in dry season, the water collecting system of new technique has collected thoroughly groundwater (0.08 l/s) and surface water (0,67 l/s), to ensure the supply of domestic water for 2 schools (of 350 boarding pupils) and 57 houses. Besides, after undergoing rainy season, the system of project still operates normally.
