Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the efficiency of COD treatment in wastewater due to the production of pesticides on a hydrodynamic (HC) model of cavitation with different types of cavitation devices, including hole plates: 1 hole, 3 holes, and 5 holes. The results showed that the highest COD removal efficiency was achieved in hole plate No. 2 (03 holes) with pH = 2.5; inlet pressure 8 kg/cm2; outlet pressure = 1 kg/cm2 and operating time = 30 minutes. The independent H2O2 model, independent Fenton model and independent HC model, HC + H2O2 model, HC + Fenton model (HC+ Fe2+/H2O2) were tested. The results of the HC system combined with Fenton gave the highest treatment efficiency, with BOD and COD removal efficiency reaching 91%, total N reaching 63.2%, and plant protection reaching 83.8%. The study also presented that the treatment efficiency of 15 types of chlorine-based pesticides in wastewater reached 72%-99%.
