Abstract

Mental health among students is becoming an increasingly important issue due to increasing pressure from studying, working, and the impact of the social environment. This study used a survey method to assess the mental health status of first-year students, identifying common psychological problems and influencing factors. The results showed that many students often experience stress, anxiety, and signs of depression, mainly due to pressure from studying, finances, social relationships, and the impact of social networks. Although awareness of mental health is improving, there are still many barriers to seeking professional support. Most students rely on family, and friends or participate in physical and extracurricular activities to cope with stress. At the same time, a few do not have the habit of sharing about psychological problems. The study recommends strengthening mental health education, improving university psychological counseling services, and encouraging students to develop stress management strategies to improve their quality of life and learning
