Abstract

This article analyzes the assistance procedures for victims of trafficking at Binh Yen House in three stages, including: stage of approaching victims, stage of supporting victims during their stay and stage of supporting victims after returning home. The stage of approaching victims is done according to a-6-step procedure to help victims clearly understand services, establish a positive relationship. The stage of supporting victims during their stay includes 5 steps such as: support activities in psychology, health, legal, vocational training, life skill education… The stage of supporting victims after returning home includes evaluating return conditions, making return plans, following the return period. This article also makes an analysis about obstacles and advantages in the procedures of supporting trafficking victims at Binh Yen House. Two major methods such as document analysis and in-depth interviews are used in the study in order to learn about the process of supporting trafficking victims at Binh Yen House. The study showed that professional procedures lead to effective and scientific assistance procedures for trafficking victims. The stages which are carried out completely from the stage of approaching victims, the stage of supporting victims during their stay and the stage of supporting victims after returning home help victims integrate into the community in the best way.
