Abstract

To design a scale of psychological difficulties among returning women trafficked
across the borders the study uses three methods, including: material research, in-depth
interview and questionnaire survey. The material research was used to build the initial scale,
and the in-depth interview was used to build the preliminary scale. Questionnaire with
Pearson’s correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis and Cronbach’s Alpha reliability
analysis on 520 trafficked women (pilot survey: 50, official survey: 470) to calibrate, verify
the quality and complete the scale. The scale includes 3 groups with 9 factors and 50 observed
variables. The cognitive difficulties group which had 2 factors with 14 observed variables,
the emotional difficulties group had 3 factors with 17 observed variables, the behavioral
difficulties group had 4 factors with 19 observed variables. The observable variables were
measured by 5-level Likert scale. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability of scale was more than
0.7 and corrected Item - Total Correlation more than 0.3. The exploratory factor analysis
showed that the construction scale was of good quality.
