The value of traditional crafts in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city

Abstract

Thanh Khe has long been integrated into the historical and cultural flow of the Đại Việt Kingdom. Its socio-economic picture reflects the unique characteristics of a coastal locality. The area preserves many traditional crafts which enrich the cultural mosaic of Da Nang and the Quang cultural subregion. These traditional crafts hold multifaceted value and have come to play a prominent role in the daily lives of the local residents. Based on existing literatureand field research, this study clarifies the values and proposes several implications for the development of traditional crafts in Thanh Khê District, Da Nang City.
