The current situation of training in knowledge and professional skills for disseminating and educating environmental protection policies and laws in Quang Nam province and emerging issues

Abstract

In implementing the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection, the authorities of Quang Nam Province have paid significant attention to training in knowledge and professional skills for personnel involved in the dissemination and education of environmental protection policies and laws. However, the actual implementation of these activities still face numerous limitations and shortcomings. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and assess the current state of such training in the province to identify these challenges. Based on an analysis of official reports from relevant agencies, 57 in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, and a survey of 400 residents and service businesses across four districts and cities (Tam Ky, Hoi An, Nui Thanh, and Dong Giang), our research reveals seven major limitations that need to be addressed in order to enhance the effectiveness of environmental policy and legal dissemination and education in Quang Nam Province.
