The dialectics of culture and environment: A study on traditional values and practices among lagoon communities in Hue city

Abstract

This research examines the interdependent relationship between culture and the environment in the Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon area of Hue City, Vietnam. By analyzing the traditional values and practices of the local communities, the paper clarifies how human adaptation to specific geographical and ecological context has historically contributed to the region's stable development. Based on the findings of this research, we propose key arguments for leveraging traditional knowledge to enhance sustainable human-environment interactions, promoting regional sustainable development.
