Abstract

This article analyzes the integrated model of ecotourism and organic agriculture in Hoi An as a strategic solution for sustainable rural economic development. Drawing on international experiences and qualitative field research at five representative locations (Tra Que, Cam Thanh, Cam Kim, Cam Chau), the study highlights the crucial roles of community participation, policy support, and management strategies in implementing the model. The findings reveal that the integrated approach generates economic, social, and environmental benefits, while also facing challenges such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and lack of stakeholder coordination. The study proposes practical solutions such as strengthening community capacity, promoting public–private partnerships, and developing supportive policy frameworks to optimize the model’s long-term effectiveness. These insights offer both local implications for Hoi An and broader applicability to other rural regions across Vietnam.
