Exploiting Chăm culture for tourism development: The case of homestays in Ninh Phước - Ninh Thuận

Abstract

Homestay tourism is a growing form of tourism in many countries around the world as well as in various localities across Vietnam. This model not only helps preserve and promote the nation’s cultural values but also contributes to the development of local communities’ economy. With its distinctive Chăm cultural resources, Ninh Phước district has developed homestay tourism that offers authentic Chăm cultural experiences. However, these homestays have not yet fully achieved the expected outcomes. Using methods such as data collection and comparison, surveys, interviews, and field trips, this study analyzes the current situation of homestay tourism and proposes several solutions for its development in Ninh Phước district, Ninh Thuận Province.
