Cultural values in maturity rituals and marriage customs of Mnong people in Lak district - Dak Lak

Abstract

The life cycle ritual is an important element constituting the cultural identity of
the Mnong. Cultural values in life cycle rituals reflect people’s multi-dimensional relationships
with the natural and social environment. The life cycle ritual of the Mnong (important rituals
in human life stages: birth, growth, death) reflects traditional cultural characteristics, clearly
reveal unique cultural values such as human values, ethical values. The study focuses on
introducing the rituals related to maturity age and marriage customs along with its meanings.
These rituals are very important in human life, show the humanity of the Mnong people in Lak
district, Dak Lak province.
