Abstract

This study assesses the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the business activities
of enterprises in the Central key economic region (CER). The data was collected by the Vietnam
Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the first quarter of 2021. The results of statistical analysis
show that restrictions on movement of people and goods during the Covid-19 outbreak were two
factors that hindered most businesses in their operation, particularly the ones in CER. In addition,
the study demonstrates that enterprises’ access to government support policies is limited. Based
on the analysis, the article proposes implications for relevant agencies to help enterprises recover
and promote business activities towards safe and flexible adaptation as well as effective control of
the Covid-19 pandemic in the coming time.
