STYLE AND TRENDS OF USAGE TRADITIONAL PATTERN IN AO DAI DESIGN

Abstract

Vietnamese woman images, in the traditional or modern context, Vietnamese and international friends often associate the charming Ao dai. Ao dai has almost become the national dress for Vietnamese women, Ao dai is one of the few pure Vietnamese words used by foreigners in their original form, without translation in documents. That shows that the Ao dai is a unique symbol and identity typical of Vietnamese culture. Up to now, Vietnamese Ao dai is merely a type of national costume, a long history, cultural traditions, aesthetic conceptions, national consciousness, and spirit of the Vietnamese people, hidden unique identities that cannot be mixed with other peoples’ costumes. But to match the contemporary aesthetic with creative thinking, we have cleverly used traditional patterns in modern ao dai designs.
