ASSESSMENT ON SAFETY INDEX FOR TEA PRODUCTS IN THAI NGUYEN, SON LA, YEN BAI, PHU THO AND LAM DONG PROVINCES FOR MANUFACTORING SAFE TEA
Abstract
Vietnamese tea has been presented in 107 countries, ranked 7th in terms of yield, ranked 6th in the world in export.
Vietnam has produced 15 different types of tea, but exports still black tea (60%), green tea (20%) and a few other types of tea. However, the application of method production such as VIETGAP, GAHP, GMP, HCCP is limited, therefore, all tea products are not safety enough for users.
To improve the competitiveness of the tea, it is neccesary to assess, analyze and have systematic study of the chain from production - processing - consumption - analysis of samples (soil, water, tea), and create provincial safety index (PTSI) for the tea in these provinces. The results has shown the indicators PTSI for Lam Dong is 83.5 points, Son La ranked the second with 81.6 points, Thai Nguyen ranked the third with 78.9 points, Yen Bai ranked the fourth with 77 points, Phu Tho ranked the fifth with 69.5 points.
