Abstract

               Reliability evaluation of a complicated power system (HL-II) plays an important role in planning, designing and operating of the power system. The paper presents methods to evaluate the power system reliability, advantages and disadvantages, and applications. Thanks to fast development of information technology industry, the Monte Carlo simulation method becomes widely used in the reliability evaluation of complicated power system, but its main drawback is the huge volume of calculation leading to long execution time. Researches for shortening execution time of simulation method are presented in this paper.
