Abstract

Study of 277 patients with sepsis from February 2023 to the end of July 2023. Aims 1.  Describing the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with sepsis at Huu Nghi Viet Tiep Hospital. 2. Describing of the antibiotic resistance situation in the subject.   Subjects and method:  cross-sectional description of a case series. Results: 89.5% of patients admitted to the hospital had fever, 53.1% of patients had anemia, 69% of patients increased white blood cells, 39% of patients decreased platelets. Patients with lactate increase accounted for 69.6%. Bacteria causing sepsis were mainly Gram-negative, accounting for 68%, the most common bacterial causes of sepsis were E coli, S. aureus and K. pneumoniae (48%, 22% and 13.4%). E. coli bacteria were mostly resistant to antibiotics: cefotaxin (63.8%), ciprofloxacin (63.2%) and were also highly sensitive to amikacin (94.5%), piperacillin/tazobactam (89.6%), fosfomycin (100%). Carbapenem antibiotics were also highly sensitive to E. coli (96% - 98.4%) and K. pneumoniae (75% - 87.1%).
