Status of compliance with routine hand hygiene of medical staff at Thai Binh Obstetrics Hospital in 2024
Abstract
Objective: Determine the rate of compliance
with routine hand hygiene of medical staff in inpatient departments at Thai Binh Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in 2024. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study aimed to evaluate compliance with hand hygiene practices of healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, and midwives in 06 inpatient clinical departments at Thai Binh Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital according to an established survey questionnaire. Results: Nurses/Midwives had the highest hand washing rate of 90.7%, doctors 82.3%. The overall hand hygiene compliance rate was 86.5%. The highest hand hygiene compliance rate in the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Department was 88.4%. The second was the Neonatal Department at 88%, the third was the Obstetrics Department I at 86.8%, the Delivery Department at 86.1%, and finally the Obstetrics Department II at 84.9%.
