Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 88 patients diagnosed and treated for zygomatic arch fracture at the Department of Dentistry, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital from January 2024 to September 2024. The study subjects were examined for medical history, clinical examination, and paraclinical examination to record research indicators. Results: The study subjects had an average age of 33.5 ± 8.2 years old, male/female ratio = 2.4; the main cause was traffic accidents with 64.8%. Clinically: the highest rate of zygomatic arch fracture was observed (90.9%). Regarding the Knight-North classification of zygomatic arch fractures, simple zygomatic arch fractures account for 9.1%, non-displaced zygomatic arch fractures account for 12.5%, non-rotated zygomatic shaft fractures account for 27.3%, externally rotated zygomatic shaft fractures account for 23.6%, internally rotated zygomatic shaft fractures account for 35.2%, and complex zygomatic arch fractures account for 13.6%. Regarding associated injuries: the largest proportion is maxillary fractures (94.3%), facial injuries (90.9%); associated injuries to other organs including traumatic brain injuries account for the highest proportion with 48.9%. Regarding good treatment results, the proportion is 88.6%. Conclusion: Zygomatic arch fractures mainly occur in young men, usually from 16 to 30 years old, mainly caused by traffic accidents. Common associated facial injuries are maxillary fractures and facial injuries. Fractures of the zygomatic arch are associated with injuries to other organs at a fairly high rate, such as traumatic brain injury. The rate of good treatment outcomes is 88.6%.
