Research on clinical and paraclinical characteristics in Gout patients at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital in 2024

Abstract

A descriptive Cross-sectional study was performed on 101 gout patients, whowere treated at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital from January to the end of October 2024. Results: Average age is 61.76 ± 13.70 years old, group 60 years old to < 80 years old for 55.44%, the oldest age is 89 years old, the youngest is 24 years old. Men account for the majority of 93.07%. Hypertension (53.5%), accounting for the highest rate, chronic kidney disease (24.8%), obesity(14.9%), diabetes (26.7%) and coronary artery disease (6.9%). Sudden onset of acute gout is 50.5%. The onset location in many joints accounting (31.7%), knee joint (28.7%), ankle joint (15.8%), finger and palm joint (2%); Tophi seeds 27.7%. The median plasma uric was 492.35 ± 158.54 μmol/l (124.30 - 862.00 μmol/l). 20.8% of patients had double line signs, 12.9% had lesions on X-ray.There was a moderate positive correlation between serum uric acid levels with urea ( r = 0.488; p < 0.05) and serum creatinin (r = 0.492; p < 0.05).
