Early outcomes of transuretal resection of bladder tumor in the treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer at Viet Duc University Hospital

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate some early outcomes of transuretal resection of bladder tumor in the treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer at Viet Duc University Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study combined with a retrospective review of 85 patients who underwent Transuretal resection of bladder tumor for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer at Viet Duc University Hospital from June 2023 to June 2024. Results: Based on the study of 85 patients, we recorded the following findings: The mean age was 58.92 ± 14.58 years (21–92). The male-to-female ratio was 4.31. The average surgery time was 35.27 ± 19.02 minutes. The average hospital stay was 5.51 ± 1.96 days. Complications occurred in 5 patients (5.9%). Treatment outcomes were rated as good in 80 patients (94.1%). Conclusion: Transuretal resection of bladder tumor for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer is a safe method with a short operation time.
