Abstract

This literature review study was carried out with the aims of describing pharmacogenetic and pharmacokinetic characteristics in the Vietnamese population from 2000 to 2022. The study has conducted to build the syntax and search action process on pubmed. Results of pharmacogenetic and pharmacokinetic studies in Vietnamese populations with full text written in English. Regarding the pharmacokinetic characteristics, the results of 7 studies were included in the review of drugs such as vancomycin, imipenem, anti-malarial drugs, anti-tuberculosis drugs. NONMEM was a popular method applied to simulate the pharmacokinetic parameters of drugs in Vietnamese people. In addition to describing the pharmacokinetic characteristics of these drugs in the Vietnamese population, the authors of these studies also focused on evaluating special populations such as children and pregnant women. In terms of pharmacogenetics, the results were obtained from 10 studies on CYP2C9, CYP3A, HLA, TPMT, TYMS-TSER, and CYP2D6 genes. PCR was applied to sequence the genes for most of the studies on the Vietnamese population.
