Drug use in the outpatient treatment of peptic ulcers with Helicobacter pylori test positive at Haiphong International hospital in 2021
Abstract
Retrospective study to analyze the rationality of drug use for the treatment of peptic ulcer out-patients with H.pylori-positive at Hai Phong International General Hospital in 2021. Results of analysis of medical records of 137 outpatient with 172 treatments for H.pylori-positive gastric and duodenal ulcers showed that PBAL quadruple regimens were the most common regimens, accounting for the highest rate (63.95 %). There quintuple regimens (PBAMT, PBALT, PBMAL) that has been applied as a salvage regimen for cases of treatment failure with all recommended regimens. 23.1 % of bismuth prescriptions had a lower dose and 1.1 % of proton pump inhibitor prescriptions had a higher dose. All drugs have a longer duration of use than recommended by 1-20 days. Contraindications to levolfoxacin in patients under 18 years of age were reported in 2.1 % involving patients 16-17 years of age. Serious drug interactions were observed in drugs that interact during absorption, with the highest rate being Levofloxacin-Antacid interactions (42.44 %), Tetracyclin-Bismuth (23.53%) and Tetracyclin- Antacid (18.49 %).
