Knowledge, attitude, and practice on dengue fever prevention of people in Cat Bi ward, Hai An, Hai Phong in 2023
Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 370 households surveyed in Cat Bi ward, Hai An, Hai Phong city in 2023 with the goal of describing knowledge, attitudes, and practices on dengue fever prevention of the people. The results showed that of the 370 people participating in the study, the majority were female (55.9%), mainly with university and postgraduate degrees (41.4%), the proportion of people doing mental labor accounts for a high proportion (56.2%). The proportion of research subjects with good general knowledge, general attitudes, and general practices on dengue prevention are 70.75%, 88.11%, and 73%, respectively. To contribute to the prevention of dengue in the area, it is necessary to strengthen communication and health education, providing information on dengue prevention, focusing on information that people do not know clearly such as the possibility of transmitting the disease, time of mosquito bites, places where mosquitoes hide and breed, and measures to prevent dengue.
