STEM EDUCATION MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR PROMOTING STEM EDUCATION IN HIGH SCHOOLS

Abstract

STEM education has developed in the recent decades, it aims to improve learners’ competencies in science, technology, engineering and, mathematics to address and adapt with the development of information technology. Since 2018, STEM has been formally integrated into the general education curriculum, and it is now being implemented in high schools. This study conducted a survey with 161 respondents and interviewed 12 school managers and teachers from six high schools in Ho Chi Minh city. The results showed that STEM education management has been implementing at a sufficient level, with many activities at planning and implementing stages achieving moderate results. Based on these findings, this paper recognizes specific administrative solutions to sustainably boost STEM education in high schools, which will help to meet educational goals.
