Abstract

The article focuses on analysing the scientific basis of Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) as a foundation for applying it to teaching social sciences and humanities in the military environment. Based on the systematisation of concepts and theoretical structures, especially David Kolb's four-stage learning cycle, the article affirms that ELT is a teaching strategy that integrates theory with practice and thinking with emotion. Based on the analysis of the requirements of social sciences and humanities in training at military officer colleges, the article presents the role and necessary conditions for applying ELT in teaching. On that basis, the article proposes solutions to apply ELT in teaching, contributing to training a team of officers with comprehensive development in knowledge, skills, political qualities and professional ethics.
