Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study exploring impact of motivation and learning strategies use on English level self-concept on 248 students from various specialtes of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Result of Pearson correlation and multiple and simple regression analysis using SPSS 17.0 have shown that autonomous motivation, time management and concentration strategies have positive effects on students` English level self-concept while controlled motivation and anxiety have no effect on their self-concept. Some discussions and suggestions will be clarified based on the results of this study in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning English.
