STATE OF AFFAIRS OF VIETNAM’S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO STRATEGIC AND PLANNING TARGETS FOR THE 2011 - 2020 PERIOD AND ARISEN PROBLEMS

Abstract

Using data from the Statistical Yearbook for the period of 2011 - 2018 and estimating for the years of 2019 and 2020, the paper focuses on analyzing the current state of Vietnam's economic development in the strategic period of 10 years from 2011 to 2020. With qualitative methods, the article analyzes and assesses the growth index, average income, economic structure shift and some macroeconomic indicators; compares the results of implementation over time with the goals set out in the economic development strategy. At the same time, the article also points out the shortcomings and the reasons for not achieving the goals, based on which proposes solutions to promote economic development for the upcoming period.
